Eastside Awards 2021 overview
The Eastside Awards is an exciting initiative aimed at highlighting and celebrating all that is good about East Belfast, whilst showcasing the contributions being made to the economic, social and community development of the area (which will include everything up to the Holywood Exchange roundabout, Dundonald, East side of Ravenhill Road to its Saintfield Road junction, Gilnahirk, Hillfoot and Titanic Quarter)
Who can apply?
Individuals, organisations and businesses based in, or operating in East Belfast and the Greater East Belfast area.

- Business - defined as Private Sector, Social Enterprise or Social Business
- Organisations - defined as Public Sector, Charities, Community Groups or Faith Organisations
- Individuals - can come from any of the above
- Greater East Belfast Area - to include everything up to the Holywood Exchange roundabout, Dundonald, East side of Ravenhill Road to its Saintfield Road junction, Gilnahirk, Hillfoot and Titanic Quarter.
How to Apply
Please look carefully at the category criteria when you are considering making an application or nomination on behalf of someone else. Applications can be submitted online however, an application from can also be downloaded here, and emailed to info@eastsideawards.org or posted to:

Entering or Nominating?
If you are entering on behalf of your business or organisation the judges will be interested in your achievements and contributions in the category chosen aligned with the category criteria. If you are nominating an individual, please make sure you have their permission and can supply sufficient information about their achievements and contributions in the category nominated.
What information do I need to provide?
Each category has a list of criteria included which you should refer to when creating your submission. This list will provide a useful guide for you to set out your story in a structured way and help you to cover the areas that will help the judges with their decisions.

- Take time to look at the criteria in your chosen category and use it to guide your responses.
- It is important to note that the Judges will be looking for evidence that will demonstrate the contributions, achievements or impacts associated with your responses.
- It might be useful to create a first draft and have a colleague or a trusted friend to review your application and give you feedback.
- Remember, the judges can only base their assessment on the information provided on the entry form so please do make sure you include all relevant information to assist them in the judging process.

- Judging will take place week 6th December 2021
- Finalists will be announced on Friday 7th January 2022
- Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday 25th February 2022, Hastings Stormont Hotel
What is the Judging process?
Each category will be judged by a panel of respected individuals from the private, public and community sectors. Each application will be assessed using the criteria set out for each category from which the judges will identify the finalists and the overall recipient. It is important for entrants to look at the criteria carefully and to provide as much evidence as possible to help the judges appreciate the achievements listed as fully as they can.
