Belfast City Airport and Eastside Awards – Championing the Best of East Belfast.

The Eastside Awards, in association with Belfast City Airport, celebrate all that is good about East Belfast and give recognition to the people who make it great. Belfast City Airport has been the primary sponsor of the Eastside Awards since their inaugural year, and the continued success of this partnership is a testament to the ever-growing calibre of entries each year. 

From teachers who go the extra mile for their students to community groups delivering groceries to neighbours in need, and the local hairdressers that are the hub of the community, the Eastside Awards shine a spotlight on the best of East Belfast, and it is an endeavour that Belfast City Airport is honoured to support.
 
The Eastside Awards ceremony is a highlight of the year for Belfast City Airport. Meeting people connected by a shared passion for their community, and hearing their uplifting stories, is something that continues to inspire us and fill us with pride. Usually a physical event, in 2020, which we can all agree was a year like no other with practically the entire world entering lockdown, the awards moved to a virtual programme.
 
While the pandemic changed our plans for the 2020 ceremony, the Our Story initiative that took its place was just as special to be a part of. The Our Story short film perfectly captured the essence of East Belfast’s community spirit and highlighted the tremendous courage, leadership, resilience, resourcefulness, and compassion of the local community in how they responded to the pandemic.
 
Fostering community links is at the heart of Belfast City Airport’s Sustainability Strategy, and we are proud to help provide a platform for the people who are making a difference in our society.
 
We are committed to making a positive impact in our local community and we take great pride in seeing our partnership with the Eastside Awards continue to go from strength to strength while celebrating the wonderful contributions of the people of East Belfast.
